# Town Close Trust (now Freeman's Charity)

We applied to the Town Close Trust for a grant of £6000 to purchase a laser cutter and assist in the fit out of our own premises. This was granted on the basis that Norwich Hackspace has a community and educational value, enabling people to learn about new technology and to share skills and knowledge in a peer group of people who enjoy spending time together. We are very appreciative as a lasercutter is a key piece of equipment and helps us to recruit members.
